SLEEPOVER TEST:
When a client and their dog(s) enroll in a program with us they instantly become a member of our pack. Loved, protected and cared for. An extension of that care, available to extra privileged pooches, is our Sleepovers. Due to the at home nature of this offering we are limited in who may participate. ​

We do our sleepover tests during one of your dog's Montessori Dog School days. Bringing them into the house during the lunch hour for a tour and assessment. We may ask for your dog to complete a full night sleepover test to ensure that they are truly comfortable.

To be considered for & pass the sleepover test dogs must...
- BE HOUSE TRAINED (quick and easily be cued to "potty", understand how to use the doggie door and knows how to ask to be let out)
- BE SOCIAL AND FRIENDLY (to people, dogs and cats) 
- BE ABLE TO SHARE (toys, treats and food)
- BE TRUSTWORTHY (leaves counters, trash cans & human items alone)
- BE CRATE TRAINED (will quietly relax in their crate during the day, at night and during classes)

- GAIN PERMISSION FROM AUSSIE BOARD OF APPROVAL* 
*Since your dog(s) will be living side by side with my pack it is only fair that they have a say in approving which friends can stay over.

2024 updates:

1. TRUST TEST : All dogs must be able to pass the front door "trust test".
For each dog wanting to sleepover I must first ask; If the front door was to blow open can I trust that this dog will either stay in the house un-cued or recall to me immediately? If I can't answer that question in the positive then I will not be able to approve a sleepover stay.

2. I will no longer be watching dogs that only sort of like staying at my place. While it would be wonderful if all the dogs were as comfortable in my home as they are at school that simply isn't reality. There are many reasons why a dog may feel this way and it isn't fair for us to ask them to deal with the stress of such a situation. 

Please note that saying no to you all is very hard for me (not in our training situations so much but in this area it really is a challenge). I would love to extend this extra care to each and every one of you but not being true to the comfort of all involved (your dog, my dogs & me) I have not been doing any of us justice.
